"I asked Dave to make a ring box for when I popped the big question to my partner. I provided dimensions of the two rings and he suggested a few ideas for wood / finishes etc. I thought it best to give Dave full creative autonomy on the design and I’m so glad I did, as the end result was an absolutely beautiful and expertly handcrafted box with a sleek walnut exterior and a rugged English oak burr inset. He also sourced some high-quality, removable foam pillows so that the rings could be arranged how I wanted and meant the box was usable post-engagement as a lovely little box to protect her favourite jewellery. It sits pride of place on her bedside table. I can’t recommend Dave highly enough! P.s… she said yes :)"

"We asked Dave to build us a toy box for our son's first birthday, gave him a rough idea of dimensions but then left the rest to him. What he designed was simply jaw dropping and a completely unique one off piece. He used the best local materials and somehow managed to make the wood look like a seashell. Inventive, technically impressive this guy brings his passion and experience to every piece he makes. Highly recommended."

"I asked Dave for a bespoke set of yoga blocks for my yoga teaching wife for her birthday. This was a tricky project which Dave enthusiastically took from my head and duly delivered within budget and time constraints and with modifications only he could have thought of. The result is a beautiful piece of workmanship which my wife adores. Seriously talented, friendly and patient guy who obviously enjoys his work. I hope to keep in touch and feel lucky to have found his workshop!!"

"We asked David to make a Tamerlane chess board for a Christmas present for our son. Such boards cannot be bought from anywhere. We sent David a sketch and he designed a beautiful board! The attention to details is superb, and David even delivered it to our house himself! David was very flexible and adjusted to our budget very graciously. Our son is delighted and has been playing Tamerlane chess regularly since Christmas!"

"I asked David to design a watch box as a very special present for my husband. I had a vague idea of what I thought he would like and what was needed for his watch collection. David helped me to articulate that and came back with a beautiful design which we then modified just a little until I was entirely happy. When I received the finished box it totally surpassed my expectations. It’s truly beautiful, my husband loves it, it’s a real family heirloom."
